Mutual Aid

Promotoras de Salud, or community health workers, are trusted community members who provide culturally appropriate services to their communities. In addition to being outreach workers, educators, and patient advocates, the IAJE promotoras provide PPE, coordinate food donations, and oversee the redistribution of much needed resources for their communities.

Promotores de Salud/Community Health Workers are the connection between community and the public healthcare system. IAJE promotoras operate under the CDC Community Health Worker model. We currently have promotoras in Morton, Laurel, Forest, and Carthage.
